If you're using A1Monitor to monitor your web server only, you could install ON the web server machine itself. Then A1Monitor will be able to reboot the server if Server failures occur (there is a checkbox in the Settings... menu).

Otherwise, if you just plan on having A1Monitor act as a remote monitoring tool that watches or pings one or more network servers (http, ftp, pop3 etc) you may install it anywhere.

If you plan to install A1Monitor on your web server, read this:

• You will need to make sure A1Monitor restarts when you reboot the server (you can have A1Monitor reboot the server [MORE INFO] for you).
• If you want email notification when the server goes down, you must have access to an SMTP server [MORE INFO]
• Email is sent to all email addresses if server failures occur.
• Leave the email address fields blank if you don't want email sent.
• Make sure you configure A1Monitor to run as an NT Service [MORE INFO] so it restarts when windows restarts (but before anyone logs in to windows).
